Pentimento werken

The central theme of this exhibition is “Pentimento” (lit.: the reappearance in a painting of an underlying image that had been painted over). Each TeXui member has approached this theme from her own point of view. Inspiration has been found, amongst others, in one’s memories, experiences, poetry, foreign cultures or nature. Although textile, like cotton, silk and organza, is used predominantly, new fibres like Colback and Tyvek appear, as well as novel techniques like photo and heat manipulation. Some objects have shifted from the usual two-dimensionality to a three-dimensional form.
The result is an exciting and intriguing exhibition. A selection:
